Patrick Utomi is a highly experienced boardroom leader with decades of service across manufacturing, finance, technology, agriculture, commodities trading, oil and gas, and real estate. He has served on the Africa Board of Deloitte as one of only two non-executive directors and held senior executive roles, including Chief Operating Officer of Volkswagen of Nigeria.
He currently chairs or serves on the boards of numerous private and public institutions, including Private Estates International West Africa, Integrated Produce City Nigeria, Smart City Lagos, A2W Network Marketing Company, and Edo University’s Governing Council. He has previously chaired or vice-chaired major financial institutions including Platinum Bank and Bank PHB and served on the governing councils of several universities and economic summits.

Patrick Utomi’s public life began early, serving in a presidential advisory capacity at the age of 27. He has chaired national parastatal boards, including the National Manpower Board, and has been deeply involved in political movements advocating social democracy and progressive reform.
He has twice been nominated as a presidential candidate in Nigeria and remains one of the country’s most sought-after public speakers and commentators. Widely regarded as a leading public intellectual, he combines academic depth with civic courage and moral clarity.

For many years, Patrick Utomi was one of Nigeria’s most prolific newspaper columnists, at times writing multiple weekly columns across Vanguard, Business Concord, The Guardian, BusinessDay, and Newswatch. He also produced and hosted the influential television public affairs programme Patito’s Gang for twelve years.
He founded and published Vivante’s Viva magazine, a glossy lifestyle monthly, further extending his engagement with public discourse and cultural commentary.
