The 2008 global financial crisis challenged global prosperity. The blame for it was placed at the doors of failing corporate leadership. In the same vein, on 9/11/2001, commercial jet liners crashing into the World Trade Centre Towers in New York showed that the Main Street, like Wall Street, could use authentic leadership. America had been attacked and its leaders had been found wanting. These world catastrophes surely exposed the crises of leadership. This is even made more evident by the crisis of development and scourge of poverty in resource-rich countries, like Nigeria, where corruption is systemic, and the direct link of corruption to many deaths is palpable. This book brings hope that people can be trained to lead and overcome these problems. It is hope drawn from research and praxis and the social enterprise engagements of the Centre for Values in Leadership.
