Description
Not many people would dispute the description of me as a restlessly enterprising intellectual and statesman who has become one of Africa’s most respected political economists and management scholars. Fewer, however, are familiar with the grit and persistence with which I have pursued enterprise development across both the social and commercial sectors.
That effort, often expressed through others, as a business teacher and Business Angel, is documented in this volume to encourage those who have the capacity to do likewise. What is perhaps most remarkable is the diversity of ventures I have stood with and supported with unequivocal, passionate commitment. These range from large-scale enterprises such as banks and diversified groups like Tenece and Nagode Industries, to social initiatives including PIN and Women Arise, as well as smaller ventures such as Agoba.com. The impact has been significant, though deliberately understated.
The first edition of this book, Business Angel as a Missionary, is presented here as Part I. The additional material that constitutes this second edition appears as Part II, offering the reader a richer and more rewarding engagement with the ideas and experiences shared in these pages.
